It's a pain in the butt to type. Like I said above, Fairy Tail's world tries very hard to establish itself as large and wonderful but it falls very flat to me.

There's a handful of good characters, but most of them are very overdone archetypes in the shonen genre. Final fights being resolved by sudden power ups or by 'muh power of friendship' constantly is incredibly boring. One Piece brings up friendship, but it doesn't make it the reason Luffy beats somebody. One Piece establishes early in that the world is enormous. It introduces characters offhandedly from different regions or important figures/groups in arcs they're not entirely relevant to, bringing them back around far later in. Doflamingo is a good example of this, or Big Mom. The series isn't afraid to dabble details into every arc that will be relevant much later, and it gives a really good sense of foreshadowing or realism to to the world in a strange sense.

Important events in new arcs aren't incredibly sudden or completely unheard of; you've likely met the characters who will be important in that arc before, or at the least the place they reside in has been brought up or shown once. As for the cast, the Strawhats have perfect chemistry. Each character has some specific relationship with each of the others instead of them just wholesale being 'the group.' They've all got their own quirks individually that make them feel unique in a way no other series will copy, such as Zoro's inability to follow even the most basic directions like walking straight forward without getting lost. That doesn't even begin to go into the rest of the enormous cast that fills out the world.

For another shonen that isn't popular around here, most people will agree Bleach introduced too many character and didn't know what to do with them. One Piece has hundreds of characters and they all get their moment and their place at some point with very few of them feeling samey or resembling the personalities of characters who precede them from other anime/manga.

It makes all of the characters super memorable. Gray and Natsu are incredibly forgettable as they both pretty much fill the main character and their rival/friend relationship like tons of other series have before. All of that stuff I listed is in praise of One Piece. Fairy Tail does all of these things about half as well and it feels like dollar store One Piece. The power of friendship stuff is incredibly tiresome, the characters aren't as quirky or fun to watch, and the world isn't nearly as interesting or expansive as One Piece's.

Fanboys will defend it and ignore the flaws to the death. You asked me what I didn't like about Fairy Tail, so I explained what. You didn't ask me what I didn't like about One Piece. You're on the ball with making a bad argument here. But they will hate any other shonen too if they compare it to one piece.

Again, show me where I actually said anything like that. Nobody here is saying anything like that. There are tons of other shonen series that are great. Assassination Classroom and My Hero Academia are two good examples. But I guess your preconceived notion about how I feel about the matter based on a broad generalization of people is wrong, huh?
